ABSTRACT
Hydrogels are three-dimensional networks of hydrophilic polymers that hold a large amount of water while maintaining the solid state. So, hydrogels can swell dramatically in the presence of aqueous solution and can also deswell upon certain stimulation. Although the definition of “macroporous hydrogels” has been extensively debated, generally they are defined as hydrogels having pores larger than 50 nm.
