ABSTRACT
Topics for basic ecological investigations are included, as well as research to better understand the uncertainty with regard to the extrapolation of experimental data from semi-field tests to the field and landscape scale. More specifically, basic research on the experimental setup is outlined with respect to the effect of soil properties, technical considerations of the TME systems, the application of the pesticide, the sampling strategy, statistics, and the limits of duration of semi-field tests.
