ABSTRACT
Small-scale arti‚cial reef applications in the Gulf of İzmir and İstanbul Bosporus in the 1970s are the ‚rst records on the subject. However, there is no documentation of these efforts. Subsequent arti‚cial reef applications became widespread after announcement of the results of scienti‚c studies which began in the 1990s.
