ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION In the past decade, many new techniques have been introduced into the field of hair restoration surgery with the goal of improving the ability to provide maximum hair growth, survival, and density. Often, these new techniques are declared to be the best possible approach to hair restoration by their inventors or proponents. It is important to be able to determine if these claims are valid. Multiple unsubstantiated claims lead to confusion for patients and physicians and do not advance the field.
