ABSTRACT

In adults, 50% of the patients will relapse into their disease. A careful clinical management by a multidisciplinary team of experienced cancer specialists is crucial in these diseases. Patient survival is dependent on the quality of care provided, at any stage of patient management, from diagnosis to treatment. This chapter describes the major diagnostic features and the natural history of sarcomas, summarizes strategies for the clinical management of the disease, and describes ongoing development in the systemic treatments of this disease.
