ABSTRACT
In this chapter, an overview of methods that can be used to estimate energy and cost savings from implementing energy conservation measures is presented. ˜ese methods are especially used in energy projects ‘nanced through performance contracting and are o¬en referred to as measurement and veri‘cation (M&V) tools. ˜e methods and their applications are brieŠy described with some examples to illustrate how savings are estimated. In addition, a case study is presented to apply selected M&V methods to estimate energy savings from retro‘ts of 30 homes.
