ABSTRACT

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) has the potential to visit upon an individual tremendous change and, in some cases, devastation to life as it might have been known to the person prior to injury. Although professionals struggle to nd better ways to mitigate the effects of brain injury, treatment must ultimately come to an end. When it does, the fruits of the discharge planning process become more or less apparent. Discharge planners faces tremendous challenges at all levels of care, not the least of which is developing a rm understanding of the broad impact of brain injury upon the person.
