ABSTRACT
In Chapter 4, we considered the enumeration of subword patterns. In the current chapter, we will focus on pattern avoidance rather than enumeration. Additionally, we will investigate various types of patterns, namely subsequence patterns, generalized patterns, and partially ordered patterns.
