ABSTRACT
Structural safety of civil infrastructures may be determined in many different ways. In structural analysis, it is often made use of partial safety factors to describe the uncertainty associated with loads and strength of materials. Loads may also be grouped in combinations to take account of their likelihood of occurrence in space and time.
