Almost all HVAC cooling towers are Œlm or splash Œll, mechanical draft type. Basic HVAC tower conŒgurations are dictated by (1) the direction of the air versus water ›ow through the tower Œll, and (2) the location of the tower fan(s), as shown in Figure 9.9.
