ABSTRACT

Confocal microscopes generate data in three dimensions; the challenge to the user is to maximize the useful information extracted from this data. Running through a stack as a movie can be valuable, but it is difŽcult to comprehend our sample as a three-dimensional object from such a view. We need to Žnd a way to present the data so that our brain can interpret it as an entity, not as a collection of slices.
