ABSTRACT

Oxyphosphorus compounds may be broadly dened as compounds which contain phosphorus-oxygen linkages. They may contain up to six oxygen atoms covalently linked to a central phosphorus atom. Most of these are derived from the parent compounds (5.1a-g), of which only orthophosphoric acid (5.1d), the tautomeric form of phosphorous acid (5.1c) and the tetrahydroxyphosphonium cation (5.1e) have so far been characterised.
