ABSTRACT
Remote sensing is a valuable tool for characterizing the vast habitat of wideranging endangered species, such as the Amur tiger (Panthera tigris altaica), also called the Siberian or Ussurian tiger (Cushman and Wallin, 2000; Prynn, 2004), and the critically endangered Amur (Far Eastern) leopard (P. pardus orientalis). Mapping, monitoring, and modeling tiger and leopard habitat related to vegetation and terrain most often used by tigers and leopards can help target resources toward locations that are most important for ensuring a
