ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION Bone marrow (BM) has been acknowledged many years as the main hematopoietic locus of adult mammals, including in humans. Apart from mature and developing blood cells belonging to all hematopoietic cell lineages, a poorly defined heterogeneous cell population of stromal cells and hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) are the main cell components of BM.
