ABSTRACT

Several pushover analysis applications in bridge engineering are summarized here. From the previous overview of past American Association of State Highway and Transportation Of•cials (AASHTO) design code developments in the present, and for the future, it is clear that pushover analysis is a necessary tool for the evaluation of the displacement capacity of new bridges. This chapter also describes its application in the seismic retro•t of existing bridges and in the evaluation of bridge system redundancy.
