ABSTRACT
Gas permeation in the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) components such as proton-exchange membranes (PEMs), anode and cathode catalyst layers (CLs), gas-dižusion layers (GDLs), and seals includes a number of complex mass-transport phenomena, the importance of which is well recognized, but detailed mechanisms of the processes are not fully understood in some cases.
