ABSTRACT
A fired process heater is a piece of equipment with a fluid flowing inside tubes, which is heated by means of radiative and convective heat transfer from hot combus tion gases ("flue gas") to the tubes. Fuels that produce the hot combustion gases may be gas, oil, or a combina tion of both.
