ABSTRACT
In this chapter we discuss some basic definitions and present results which are needed to study Green’s functions and linear ordinary and partial differential equations. Proofs of these results can be found in standard textbooks on advanced calculus and real analysis. The notation used in this book, although standard, is presented prior to this chapter. Readers familiar with the topics covered in this chapter may still like to read it; others are advised to study them thoroughly.
