ABSTRACT
Nowadays, re—ning industry faces a number of daunting challenges. There is increasingly stringent environmental regulation resulting from the growing demand for cleaner fuels. The quality of today’s crude oil is inferior to the crude oil of 30 years ago; today’s is very heavy and acidic, resulting in a more laborious re—ning process [1-3].
