More Really Big Issues—The Sacri–cial Ones

Sacri–ce gets a bad rap. It sounds unpleasant, unwanted, and really unnecessary. It implies giving up something dear. Would not we rather focus on fun and enjoyment, pro–ts and progress?

However, sacri–ce has a positive side if we think of it in slightly different terms. I like to picture it in my mind as disciplined action and behavior in order to achieve a greater future good. While it might not be particularly pleasant in the present, it prepares us to prosper in the future.
