ABSTRACT
Storage virtualization proposes presentation methods of logical abstraction of classes of storage resources such as disks, blocks, tape systems, file systems, files, and records. It encapsulates the complexity and implementation of hosts, storage arrays, switches, storage area network (SAN)-attached appliances, and networks. Hence, virtualization applied to storage resources conveys the ubiquity of connecting, filing, and storing functions.
