The authors have recently developed and numerically implemented several GBT-based beam finite elements to analyse the elastic local, distortional and global buckling behaviour of plane and space frames built from open-section thin-walled steel members (e.g., Basaglia et al. 2008, 2009, or Camotim et al. 2010).
