ABSTRACT
Circular Hollow Section (CHS) tube provides much better confining effect to concrete core especially when the diameter-to-thickness ratio is small compared with SHS and RHS tubes (Hu et al. 2003). Furthermore, splitting of aluminium CHS tube is not likely to occur.
