ABSTRACT
The late 20th century has witnessed for the first time in history four generations working together in the occupational environment. That is because financial necessities and longer lifespan have prompted people to remain in the work force after what used to be the normal retirement age. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (2012, 1) projects that workers in the 55-years-and-older age group in the United States will comprise 25.2% of the labor force in 2020, up from 19.5% in 2010.
