ABSTRACT
Traditional methods for delivering drugs to the brain are inadequate. Many drugs, particularly watersoluble or high-molecular-weight compounds, do not enter the brain following systemic administration because they permeate through blood capillaries very slowly. is blood-brain barrier (BBB) severely limits the number of drugs that are candidates for treating brain disease.
