ABSTRACT

Geomorphology of the terrain in the Czech Republic does not call for the construction of a high number of the tunnels. In most cases it is beneficial to find cheaper, non-tunnel solutions for the direction of the road and railway routes. In spite of this, many interesting underground constructions have been built over the last century. As a reference we can show almost 60 km of the Prague’s metro underground network plus the new Mrazovka tunnel.
