ABSTRACT

The Kicking Horse Canyon Project (KHCP) involves upgrading approximately 26 kilometers of the TransCanada Highway in B.C. from the town of Golden to the western boundary of Yoho National Park to a modern four-lane standard. Due to the rugged nature of the canyon section and the requirements of the BC Ministry ofTransportation this upgrading has required the consideration of tunnels as part of the preliminary stage of the project.
