ABSTRACT
The NATM has become the standard technique in mountain tunneling projects, and mechanized construction has made remarkable advances. Under the circumstances, further labor saving and improved work safety are required. There is greater risk when workers are present near the tunneling face, which is prone to falling rocks or collapse. People involved in tunneling projects have been insisting “no goal is more critical than safety at the face.”
