ABSTRACT

A particle in a fluidized bed can have two types of motion: translational and rotational, determined by Newton’s second law of motion. During its movement, the particle may collide with its neighbor particles or wall and interact with the surrounding fluid, through which the momentum and energy are exchanged. At any time t, the equations governing the translational and rotational motions of particle i in this two-phase flow system are:
