ABSTRACT
Irreversibility is a dominant feature of granular flows. First, interactions between the grains are dissipative because of static friction and inelastic collisions (Jaeger et al. 1996). In very slow motions, structural rearrangements are another cause of irreversibility (Utter & Behringer 2004).
