ABSTRACT
The pressuremeter test (Baguelin et al. 1973) is widely used in foundation engineering to characterize the mechanical behavior of soil. Main theoretical models of the pressuremeter test are based on continuum and homogeneity assumptions (Fahey, 1993; Yu et al. 1991; Mantaras et al. 2002), which do not take into account the discrete nature of the granular material.
