ABSTRACT

To measure the axial force, a load cell is mounted between the top plate and the hydraulic actuator. It is capable of measuring up to 10 kN with 0.1 N resolution. This results in a maximal axial stress σ1 ≈ 650 kPa and 0.065 kPa resolution.
