ABSTRACT
The objective of this chapter is to report the effects of elevated levels of CO2 on plant anatomy. In particular, we focus on leaves and xylem tissue (including wood), because they are intimately associated with water loss and water transport. The effect of elevated CO2 on roots and stomata is discussed in Chapter 6 (roots), Chapter 8 (stomatal conductance), and Chapter 9 (stomatal density).
