ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to provide practical design and engineering guidelines for the control of safe oxygen-enriched combustion systems. This chapter is divided into two categories of combustion systems. The first category includes the integration of an oxygen supply and control system into an existing air/ fuel combustion process. The enrichment of the air with oxygen is usually facilitated by an oxygen injection device that is installed into the air supply pipeline. The second category of combustion systems deals with the installation of a new oxygen/fuel combustion process. This type of system usually includes oxygen and fuel supply and control system, and an oxygen/ fuel burner.
