ABSTRACT
As with the Phase I environmental site assessment, the next phase of work goes under several different names. It is often called a Phase II environmental site assessment, especially when performed as a follow-up to the Phase I ESA. In this chapter, we refer to the next investigative phase by another commonly used phrase: the “site investigation.”
