ABSTRACT
With the large-scale smart meter rollout in Finland, all Finnish commercial customers and residential consumers will have remotely-read electricity meters by the end of 2013. The distribution system operators (DSOs) and the electricity retailers are imminently facing issues including (1) how to fully utilize this investment and technological advance to enhance their day-to-day operations, (2) how to continuously improve cost efciency, and (3) how to create new growth opportunities sustainably.
