ABSTRACT
In this section we turn our attention to the cost of energy. Because it is important that all readers have a common background, we first briefly describe what the term means as well as several other energy-related terms, such as joules, British thermal units (BTUs), and horsepower; the latter probably very familiar to those who work with automobiles. Although we probe much deeper into energy-related terms and especially electricity which powers just about every data center, for now we focus our attention upon obtaining a common background in energyrelated terms.
