Advanced vehicle technologies alternative to the conventional IC engine vehiclesarereferredtoasalternativevehicles.Electricvehicles(EV),hybrid electricvehicles(HEV),plug-inhybridvehicles(PHEV),andfuelcellelectricvehicles(FCEV)areallexamplesofalternativevehicles.Thischapter presentsthearchitecturesanddesignofthesealternativevehicletechnologies. The chapter starts with the components used and their sizing in EV.
