ABSTRACT

The theoretical paradigm for superconductivity has been in place for more than 50 years. The existence of unsolved, long-standing problems point to areas of potentially fruitful investigation. Problems like an effective theory of the superconducting critical temperature, Tc, or a theoretical understanding of the foundations for hightemperature superconductors, Tc > 77 K, have been open for many years. It is our hope that the molecular quantum mechanical approach suggested here will offer a theoretical basis that can lead to solutions of these and other problems in the eld.
