ABSTRACT

The procedures for the analysis of single piles under lateral loading, presented in the preceding chapters, are employed herein to enable comparisons to be made between results from experiments and from computations. Not only will the comparisons provide information on the accuracy of the analytical methods, but the techniques of analysis will also be demonstrated. Many tests have been reported in literature on the results of field-testing of full-scale

piles; however, in some instances critical information is missing. The following data are either necessary or desirable. Where some data are missing, estimates can sometimes be made to achieve a comparison. Examples of such estimates are given in the cases that follow.
