ABSTRACT
The word “specific” used in these definitions can easily be understood if it is contrasted to “nonspecific” stimuli to which all asthmatic subjects react (irritants, fumes, exercise, and cold air). Therefore, “specific” used in this context refers to any agent or exposure that is present in the workplace, which directly results in OA.
