ABSTRACT
This chapter explains how the dierent steps of the knowledge dis-covery in databases (KDD) process can be designed and implemented as services. Moreover, a methodology for composing services to design distributed KDD applications is described. As the approach allows for worldwide knowledge discovery, a way to build a hierarchy of services in large-scale scenarios is discussed.
