CHERUBISM Cherubism, a rare genetic disorder, causes prominence in the lower face as it may present with bilateral jaw swellings ( Fig. 1.15.1 ).

CLEIDOCRANIAL DYSOSTOSIS Cleidocranial dysostosis (dysplasia)—an autosomal dominant condition due to a defect in the CBFA1 gene-can present with delayed tooth eruption, multiple supernumerary teeth, dentigerous cysts, and short tooth roots, hypoplastic or aplastic clavicles, hyperteleorism, frontal bossing and patent metopic sutures ( Figs 1.15.2-1.15.6 ).
