Medicolegal considerations of cosmetic treatment with botulinum toxin injections

To improve communication, the practice decided to institute a mandatory 2-week posttreatment office evaluation for new BoNTA patients to determine treatment effect, to administer touch-ups if needed, and to address patient expectations and treatment-related concerns. Since initiating this mandatory follow-up, retention rate of BoNTA patients in the practice increased from 55% to 67%.
