ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we examine the thermodynamic ef ciency of the propanepropylene separation process by distillation. The tools necessary for this analysis are developed using the rst and second laws of thermodynamics. Sources of thermodynamic inef ciency are pinpointed and, nally, some options are discussed to improve the ef ciency of the separation.
