ABSTRACT
Rheology is the study of –ow properties of liquids and deformation of solids under the in–uence of stress. It addresses the viscosity characteristics of solution and colloidal systems. The –ow of simple liquids can be described by viscosity, an expression of the resistance to –ow; however, other complex dispersions cannot be simply expressed by viscosity. Materials are divided into two general categories, Newtonian and non-Newtonian, depending on their characteristics.
