ABSTRACT
Coordination can be assessed by asking the patient to raise one arm and the contralateral leg simultaneously and determining whether equilibrium can be maintained satisfactorily during a unipodal stance. Following mastectomy there is difficulty in full coordination of movements in a unipodal stance. Coordination of movements of the upper and lower limbs is dependent upon synergistic actions of the LD and psoas major muscles.
