ABSTRACT

There are seven CC international organizations that participated in the development of the CC:

Communications Security Establishment, Canada ◾ Service Central de la Securite des Systemes d’Information (SCSSI), France ◾ Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) or German ◾ Information Security Agency (GISA), Germany Netherlands National Communications Security Agency, The Netherlands ◾ Communications-Electronics Security Group, United Kingdom ◾ NIST: National Institute of Standards and Technology, U.S. ◾ NSA: The National Security Agency, U.S. ◾

These international organizations were responsible for all North American and European security criteria. In a joint activity, referred to as the Common Criteria Project, they attempted to resolve the conceptual and technical differences among the source criteria, and to combine their separate criteria into a single set of widely useful international IT security criteria.
