FNAC alone. Although CB takes substantially longer to process, the procedure is associated with higher diagnostic accuracy and is often needed as a supplementary test when FNAC has failed to yield a defi nitive result. Comparison of the scoring criteria for FNAC and CB is shown in Table 22.1.
