ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we review the methods that detect genes differentially expressed across two sets of experiments. These two sets of experimental conditions can be two different laboratory settings, healthy versus diseased cases, or before and after introducing a drug/treatment. This chapter begins with some basis questions regarding the applicability of simple methods such as t test and continues with more advanced methods.
